Moral freedom in the world

PortadaWIMFThe Foundation for the Advancement of Liberty has published today the first edition of the World Index of Moral Freedom (WIMF), co-authored by Andreas Kohl and Juan Pina, both of them members of the Foundation’s council. This index classifies one hundred and sixty countries depending on their degree of individual liberty to take decisions pertaining to the great ethic and moral debates of our time. The indicators considered are organized into five categories: religious freedom, bioethical freedom, drugs freedom, sexuality freedom and family and gender freedom. The purpose of this new index is to determine the countries’ moral freedom in order to compare their performance with the one attained in other freedom indices (general, economic, press, etc.) as well as in development indices.

The document is published in English, and a Spanish translation will be available later on. An international press release with the main findings and country rankings has been distributed.
